Tsu.geIvane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is involved in the TEMPUS project: DESIRE 544091-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-BE-TEMPUS-JPCR (Development of Embedded System courses with implementation of Innovative virtual approaches for integration of Education, Research and Production in UA, GE, AM - DESire 2013). 12 Universities from 6 countries are participated in the project. TSU is a partner University. Project Coordinator is Thomas More Mechelen (Belgium).

Tsu.geIvane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is involved in the project - Improving Environmental Monitoring in the Black Sea (EMBLAS) (2013 - 2014) funded by the EU and UNDP, and implemented by UNDP, Europe and the CIS Bratislava Regional Centre, with support UNDP national offices in Georgia, Russia and Ukraine, covers three mentioned countries. The project will strengthen capacities of the respective national authorities for biological and chemical monitoring of water quality in the Black Sea, in line with EU water related legislation (EU WFD and MSFD).
EMBLAS
The Project ‘Improving Environmental Monitoring in the Black Sea” (EMBLAS), dedicated to the protection of the Black Sea environment is co-financed by EC and UNDP. Beneficiary countries are Georgia (GE), Russian Federation (RF) and Ukraine (UE). At present, the second phase of the project, the implementation of which started on 1st of April 2014 and will end in 2018, is under realization. The overall objective of the project is to help improve the protection of the Black Sea environment. This objective will be pursued through the implementation of those initiatives that were elaborated and planned during the preparatory phase of this project (EMBLAS-I). The EMBLAS-II project is addressing the overall need for support in protection and restoring the environmental quality and sustainability of the Black Sea.

TEMPUS-DESIRE TSU team is pleased to announce the 1st training in “New Teaching Approaches in Engineering”, which will take place in the second building of TSU at room #344 on October 15, 2014.
Training will start at 10AM. The following topics will be covered:

  • CNC technology as a motivation element in primary school
  • Information Technologies in Remote Experiments

Within the framework of developing its Strategic Plan, the OIV grants research scholarships in priority programme fields on a yearly basis. Grants offered within the framework of this programme are short term (six months to fifteen months maximum) and are provided for specific post graduate training programmes. Targeted candidates must be very qualified, with the desire to pursue their research, further knowledge and keep up on the latest progress made in their field of study and/or work.
