Description :
The main goals of the symposium are: to deliver the latest knowledge about clinical, legal, organizational, ethical and
scientific problems related to the transplantation of liver and pancreas/Langerhans islets to Georgian medical and
scientific society: elaboration of the working algorithm needed for the implementation of above mentioned activities.
The scientists and clinicians from two countries of EU (Germany, Switzerland) and USA – the acknowledged experts in this
field will participate in the scientific symposium.
The academic staff of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Tbilisi State Medical University, also the group of clinicians
and representatives of professional associations who are interested in the development of transplantation of liver and
pancreas/Langerhans islets and also have the experience with regard to experimental studies and/or legal-normative
and/or clinical activity (fellowship and/or practice abroad) in this direction will participate in the symposium from Georgian
side.
The symposium schedule includes presentations, debates, two round tables, discussion of 4-year plan (algorithm) for the
development of transplantation of liver and pancreas/Langerhans islets in Georgia and signing the collaborative
memorandum.
