Project Name :New Machine-Perfusion Organ Preservation “in situ” (experimental study)
Donor Organization :SHOTA RUSTAVELI NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION OF GEORGIA
Budget:193167
Grant number :№ 217382
Research Direction :8 Medical Sciences
Sub Direction :8-340 Cardiovascular Surgery
Keyword(s) :Perfusion
Description :Research goal is to develop a new method of multi-organ in situ preservation with the use of
normothermic pulsatile machine-perfusion in order to maximally reduce the ischemic/reperfusional
damage to transplant and demonstration of positive effects of this technique compared with
conventional method of preservation.
The successful realization of the project provides the better post-transplantation functioning of organs
conserved by the proposed method, which represents the preterm for clinical approbation. Thus, the
potential consumer/market of the expected product of our study refers to all countries and cinical
centers, which perform transplantation surgeries and are involved in the functioning of “international
organ bank”.
