Description :
Various types of Georgian folk tales include God and saints. Sometimes the Christian elements dictate the stories, other times the stories include very little Christian thought patterns, although their chief characters are Christian. There are motifs in which clearly the name of a heathen character has been merely changed into that of a Christian.
The large numbers of Christian ideas and Christian names by no means indicate a Christianization of this sort of folk literature. The names are not important in this regard, rather the behavior of the heroes. The hero of the magic fairytale approaches the ideal, when he attains a close similarity with the form of a Christian as outlined in Christian teaching.
