Description :
The three-year research design entails three consecutive phases. During the first phase, we will develop a universal perfusion machine (UPM). For the second phase, an experimental animal model will undergo 24-hour perfusion preservation of the newly explanted (the so-called normal) organs (liver, kidney) with normothermic native blood, using the standard heart-lung bypass machine (SHLBM) and the universal perfusion machine (UPM). In the third phase, the new method of conditioning will be developed in ischemic preconditioned experimental models by adding Plaferon to the perfusion liquid. We will conduct 24-hour conditioning of the so-called “marginal” organs by the standard apparatus and UPM.
